The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) elected Pakistani native Ayla Majid as the Pakistani Woman Vice President of ACCA on Wednesday.
With this, Ayla has made history as the first South Asian woman to be chosen as the ACCA’s vice president in the organization’s illustrious and varied 118-year history.
Speaking in this respect, Ayla stated she would like to thank everyone for their support during her election to the ACCA Global Council. She expressed her gratitude to the ACCA for enabling her to continue serving on the council and advancing the organization’s future development, worldwide reach, relevance, and recognition.
Ayla said that this year’s ACCA elections had several brilliant members, and she is pretty pleased that the election process is developing along with the industry.

Ayla has an LLB (Hons) from the University of London and an MBA from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). She also graduated from the University of Oxford, the Harvard Kennedy School, and Nanyang Technological University.
She has 20 years of expertise in corporate governance, mergers, and transaction advice.
She is a prominent proponent of sustainability and an international speaker. She participates in essential discussions on digital transformation, the Belt and Road Initiative, the future of work, energy, and sustainable infrastructure.
On boards in the energy, pharmaceutical, and not-for-profit industries, Ayla serves as an independent director.
