Before the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL 8) season eight draught, it is anticipated that Karachi Kings and Pakistan captain Babar Azam will not continue their partnership.
The 28-year-old led the franchise to a last-place finish in the PSL 7 season, during which they were winless and lost all ten of their games.
Director Wasim Akram was also seen reprimanding Babar on the field during the seventh season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 8). In contrast, he also criticized Babar’s decisions, including the fact that he did not demote himself to No. 3 while commentating on a local sports channel during the Twenty20 World Cup that is currently taking place.
The same dilemma is affecting Pakistan, in which the openers are taking a defensive approach to the game, and Babar is unwilling to move where he bats in the order.
It has been reported that Babar Azam has no desire to play for the Kings; thus, it looks like the franchise will have to decide on a new captain very soon.
It is crucial to mention that Babar has been a member of the Karachi Kings since the PSL 2 and that he played a significant role in the team’s success in winning the trophy in 2020.
